In 2006 the League organized the first G8 Youth Summit in St. Petersburg. Students of the best political universities from 8 countries performed the role of presidents and ministers of their countries and within five days of negotiations they have established communique in which they proposed specific ways to solve urgent, from their point of view, problems.

«The Summit of Youth Russian and EU Leaders» took place in St. Petersburg 22–29 April in 2007 and was organized by the International Youth Diplomacy League and the Foundation for Democracy with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the European Commission, the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Government of St. Petersburg, number of General Consulates and Embassies of the European Union, the St. Petersburg branch of LLC «Business Russia», the Council of Rectors in St. Petersburg and St. Petersburg State University Faculty of International Relations.

St. Petersburg hosted the «UN Model 2006» International Summit from 19th till 26th of November. The organizers were the International Youth Diplomacy League with the support of the International Fund for Support the Culture «Master Class» and the Council of Rectors in St. Petersburg.

Evening reception at the Derzhavin Palace on the occasion of the international summit opening. On November, 20 2006 the League together with the «MASTER CLASS» Culture Support Fund hosted an evening reception at the Derzhavin Palace on the opening of the international summit.

At first, Eitvydas himself made for the guests an excursion on the visa department of the Consulate General. Everything there meets the standards of the European Union and, in addition, the Consulate General of Lithuania in St. Petersburg is ready for entry into force of the Schengen agreements.

«Different people — how they are similar» was the topic of the meeting of the Consul General of Great Britain Jorge Edgar with the League, which was held on October 23, 2006 in the new office of the British Council on Nevsky prospect, 32.

Kseniia Khoruzhnikova, director of the League, took part in a reception organized by the Consulate General of France on the occasion of the National Day of France, 14 July — the Bastille Day. Theevent took place in the Kamerunovaya gallery, Pushkin city.

The main objectives of the summit included the involvement of youth in the process of expressing ideas about the current situation in the world, identifying the problems interesting for young people, reporting this information to those who are responsible for the fate of the world now, search for alternative ways to address pressing issues of our time, forecasting situation in the future, culturing the necessary skills in young people: from the ability to communicate with other cultures to the sense of responsibility for the future of the world.
